A Care Team in Your Pocket: Highlights from the Doro Mind App Walkthrough

A Heartfelt Thank You

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined our discussion. Your contributions and lived experiences help us build better tools and support for every family. Special thanks to our host Stephanie Greer, Patrick Menard for the Q&A, and Brittany Troupe for moderating the chat.

Key Insights and Takeaways

During the session, Stephanie emphasized that while our app is powerful, it remains a human-led experience. The technology is simply the bridge that keeps you connected to our experts, including Clinical Director Dr. Robert Laitman, our Nurse Practitioners, and our dedicated Guides.

The conversation addressed the real world hurdles families face daily. Here are the highlights:

  • Trust as Progress: Engaging a hesitant loved one begins with building trust, which is a primary indicator of recovery that leads to shared treatment goals.
  • Navigating In Between Moments: Serious mental illness is not 9 to 5, so the app allows you to share symptoms or questions immediately so your team can respond during monitored hours.
  • HIPAA as a Tool for Partnership: We believe providers should use clinical judgment to facilitate family involvement, ensuring caregivers are partners in care rather than being shut out.
  • Multiplayer Coordination: Group channels remove the burden of the messenger from the family, as the individual, family, and clinical team are all a part of the conversation simultaneously.
  • Actionable AI Coaching: Our AI Coaches allow caregivers to role play difficult conversations like voices and beliefs using principles of CBT for psychosis.
  • Groups: New moderated Groups allow members (both peers and caregivers) to connect safely and share lived experience with others on a similar path.

Sneak Peek: Future Features

We also shared a feature coming soon to the Doro Mind browser experience: a visual recovery interface. Members will be able to track 10 factors of the Global Assessment of Functioning, such as social functioning and housing, alongside personalized recovery goals.
